Where do I Live Online?

There are so many choices of online venues where you can engage in conversation, put forward a point of view, or show photos or projects. The panelists in this session will talk about what they write and why they choose the venues they do, from Facebook or Ravelry to blogs, from Twitter to Plurk. Along the way there will be lots of room for the audience to discuss why they make the choices they do.

Speakers: Lauren Wood, moderator, has blogged for longer than lots of people (http://www.laurenwood.org/anyway and http://www.runedesigns.com) but not as long as many others. She's often on Ravelry at laurendw, occasionally on Twitter at http://twitter.com/laurendw, and hasn't touched Plurk for months.

Kim Adamson-Sharpe sets up blogs for other people but prefers using Facebook and other online forums herself.

Hilary Genders blogs almost every day at http://flyingpigknits.blogspot.com/, posts on Ravelry most days as yarnpiggy, and hangs out on Twitter (http://twitter.com/yarnpiggy) and Plurk (http://www.plurk.com/yarnpiggy), writing different things on each one.

Tim Bray blogs at http://tbray.org/ongoing and tweets at http://twitter.com/timbray, uses Facebook for not much, and hasn't visited Plurk or identi.ca for months.
